Lingaa is the movie you would watch even when a friend tries to discourage you with the faults portrayed by the movie. And the reason for this is the casting of the superstar Rajinikanth. Co-starring are Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Shetty, Radha Ravi and Santhanam. The movie hit cinemas on 12th December, 2014 with K S Ravikumar as the director.
The movie revolves around Rajinikanth (known as Lingaa in this movie) and his grandfather Raja Lingeshwaran. The people of Solaiyur village sought Rajinikanth to come over and re-open a temple located near the village’s dam. As events unfold, Rajinikanth begins to learn what his grandfather went through to build the dam in the village. That was when he had a change of heart towards his grandfather – he began to accord him due respect. The action unfolds when the dam comes under attack. Rajinikanth has to do all it takes to save it from destruction. Events thereafter leads to the climax of the movie.
Though entertaining, Lingaa fails to feature impressive music and camera work. Furthermore, the movie features comedians like Santhanam and Karunakaran who only appeared with nothing significant to do.
